Why do I need the 4-week meditation challenge?

Your biggest challenge as a meditator, especially if you are a beginner, is that of meditating daily! Most of those who learn how to meditate, cite this as a major challenge.

Knowing to meditate is not enough. The only way to get value is to actually practice meditation daily. In that sense meditation is much like exercise, diet, or any other practice that we know is good for us. Only regular practice is ultimately beneficial for us

This is why I created the free 4-week meditation challenge: to help you establish your meditation practice.

Why is meditation so hard to practice?

Meditation as a practice is actually very simple. You can learn the basics of meditation in less than half an hour. However, to actually practice meditation regularly turns out to be significantly tougher than imagined.

The main challenge is that you need to use your mind to calm down or observe your mind – the very tool that will often attempt to do anything to get away from meditation! 😉 Your mind has formed deep habit patterns over many decades of distraction. Breaking this pattern can be a challenge if you have not established a meditation habit.

Why 28 days? Why not 7 days? Or 21 days?

Research has shown that it takes 21 consecutive days to form a habit. This is now a well known fact. However, 21 days is the bare minimum required to establish a habit. In practice, it often takes a bit more, which is why the meditation challenge is 28 days. Once you meditate for 28 days continuously, you will have established a habit and it will be easy for you to keep it up thereafter.

With this 4-week meditation challenge, you get an opportunity to establish a meditation habit with lots of other meditators.

What is the 4-week meditation challenge?

  • You commit to meditating daily for at least 10 minutes a day, for 28 days consecutively. That’s it. It’s that simple.
  • You can commit to meditating for more than 10 minutes; It’s just that 10 minutes is the absolute bare minimum.
  • You receive daily reminders to meditate, along with tips and tricks to better meditation

Meditation Challenge rules & details

Dates: The 4-Week Meditation Challenge starts on 01-Aug-2020 and ends on 28-Aug-2020

Type of meditation: You can meditate in any style or tradition that you are already familiar with. You only need to meditate daily!

Commitment: This challenge is meant to help you commit to meditating daily and establishing your meditation habit.  So set a clear intention like this:

“I commit to meditating daily and completing the 4 week meditation challenge successfully.”

Daily meditation target: You need to meditate daily for at least 10 minutes, for a period of 28 days. That’s it.
